Not All Tyres are Created Equal
The quality of the materials used to make a tyre vary greatly. The natural rubber, carbon black, steel cord and nylon each have individual properties which make a big difference to the performance of the tyre over many years of use. Many budget tyres are manufactured at the lower end of the specified parameters. The heavier the tyre - the more material it has in it, while some manufacturers reduce tread depth and rubber in the tyre to cut cost, which ultimately reduces service life.
At Stronga, we only work with leading component suppliers such as BPW, Hardox, Danfoss, Wabco and others. Now, we are excited to announce a partnership with ‘Vredestein’ who will supply market-leading ‘Endurion’ range tyres for many of the trailers in our HookLoada, DumpLoada and BulkLoada lines. Vredestein have been in the tyre business for over 100 years. Despite their long history, they are continuously improving performance and design to meet the increased demands of modern operations. Vredestein ‘Endurion’ trailer tyres are set to make a HUGE difference for our customers across the globe, minimising compaction caused by laden trailers while boosting efficiency at high speeds, over many years of hard-use.
Read on to learn more about our cooperation with Vredestein ‘Endurion’; and what it means for you.

“Endurion” - The Efficiency Champion
Vredestein ‘Endurion’ is well-known in the market as the efficiency champion on hard surfaces, the proven-performer in the field, and the radial agri-industrial tyre for long-term thinking businesses. The modern-design, premium Endurion tyre raises the bar in terms of robustness, comfort and service life, particularly with heavy-duty DumpLoada trailers.

2. With broad-based 45̊ cleats, ‘Endurion’ tyres have optimal self-cleaning properties and class-leading traction on all surfaces, in all weather conditions.
3. With a sophisticated compound and robust carcass design, ‘Endurion’ tyres offer high durability, leading to maximum return on investment and low service, maintenance and replacement costs.

The text below corresponds to the numbers in the illustration beneath.
1. “Comfort zone” benefits. Rubber in driving direction for continuous road contact leading to excellent driving comfort for the operator and exceptionally long tyre life.
2. Stabiliser ring.
3. Unique non-parallel lugs with an increasing gap from the centre to the shoulder of the tyre deliver superb self-cleaning properties. This also ensures the tyre keeps rolling even in the most difficult conditions, leading to optimum traction and productivity.

The Choice is Yours
At Stronga, we offer tyres from different leaders in the specialist field of trailer tyres. Tyre selection allows the customer to choose the most appropriate solution for their individual requirements. This is important because choosing the correct tyre and wheel combination is critical to the performance of your Stronga trailer.
If your job involves road haulage over large distances and very little field work, your trailer may be better suited to a high-pressure truck-type tyre. Alternatively, for fieldwork-heavy jobs with little road haulage, a floatation tyre could be better. Of course, making the right choice is not straightforward. That’s why Stronga’s tyre-tech experts advise the customer on the correct solution for their needs; and that’s also why we’ve written this handy guide to help you understand the various factors for consideration.

Considering: Speed & Capacity
First-up, Stronga’s technical advisers encourage customers to consider the speed of their tractor and capacity of the chosen Stronga trailer. If, for example, you are considering investing in our 21-tonne hooklift trailer, think about whether you will be travelling faster than 40km/h, particularly given modern tractors can now travel up to 65km/h.
Always work on the highest potential load/weight scenario and let us calculate your required carrying capacity based on this figure. It is worth remembering that most tyre failures occur as the result of overloading the trailer. Modern tyres work extremely hard - dynamic loads have increased substantially in recent years as a result of increased payloads and higher tractor speeds.

Maintaining: Correct Tyre Pressure
Operating at the manufacturers recommended tyre pressure for your specific application is crucial. Vredestein offer handy technical datasheets to allow customers to select the optimal pressures for field and road-work. It is critical that customers maintain correct pressure at all times, regularly checking and reinflating, when necessary. It only takes one journey overloaded/underinflated to damage the tyres internal structure, and this can lead to costly service and maintenance costs. Luckily for customers, in the rare event of tyre damage, Vredestein have an excellent reputation for support and service.
Another important aspect of maintaining tyre pressures is minimising fuel usage; operating with under or overinflated tyres can have a hugely detrimental effect on overall fuel consumption.

Considering: Tyre Patterns
Vredestein offer a range of tyre patterns for different applications. Block patterns are designed for 60% road, 40% field; whereas a more open centre-pattern is recommended for 60% field, 40% road. Stronga can help you understand which tyre to choose as different patterns offer different benefits, such as better self-cleaning and smoother road-running. These are personal choices which the customer needs to make based on the advice they receive from Stronga’s experts.

Ask Stronga
When considering a new Stronga trailer, boosting efficiency by taking a step up in capacity and reducing the number of loads doesn’t have to mean greater impact on the ground you work on. Modern tyre equipment from Vredestein can make a big difference in minimising compacting caused by laden trailers, and that’s not the only benefit offered as part of our new ‘Endurion’ tyre cooperation.
The team here at Stronga are thrilled with our cooperation with Vredestein, and we can’t wait to see the difference ‘Endurion’ tyres make for our customers over the coming weeks, months and years. Contact us today to specify your new Stronga trailer.
